Israel and Gaza – Is This The End?

According to the Bible, Israel will survive this recent war with Hamas in Gaza and the potential surrounding areas, which will be discussed later in the article.

Most of us realize that Iran is behind all the mayhem that is occurring in the Middle East. Their goal is the total destruction of the Jews and Israel. After the Gaza invasion, Iran’s state television showed parliament members rising from their seats to chant “Death to Israel.”

The genesis of this war is centered around the Al-Aqsa Compound, which Jews and Christians refer to as the Temple Mount.

Mohammed Deif, the Hamas terror commander in Gaza, said: “Our righteous mujahideen, this is your day to make the enemy understand that his time is over. They attacked and desecrated Al-Aqsa, and we had previously warned them.” The “desecration” occurred when Israeli police stormed and arrested protestors in the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Also, according to Al Jazeera TV network on October 2nd, Jews who were heavily protected by Israeli security forces stormed into Al-Aqsa Mosque for the third day in a row and carried out provocative acts. Deif dubbed this Gaza invasion the “Al-Aqsa Storm.”

Why is the location of the Temple Mount so important to Muslims, Jews, and Christians? The gold Dome of the Rock (built by Muslims) in Jerusalem sits on the Al-Aqsa compound/Temple Mount along with the Al-Aqsa Mosque. The Dome of the Rock is where Abraham was told to sacrifice Isaac and where the Holy of Holies sat. This is also the site where Muslims believe that Mohammad ascended to heaven on his night journey. It is the third holiest site in Islam behind Mecca and Medina, and the holiest site for Jews. “God forbid that he should have a son” is inscribed within the Dome of the Rock, referring to Jesus. This area is the most contested area in the world and the genesis of a spiritual conflict between the forces of good and evil and what the bible describes as the principalities and powers of spiritual wickedness. It is where the Jews desire to rebuild their temple and where Jesus will return to rule this earth.

Let’s get back to our initial question. Will Israel survive this war even if other Muslim countries get involved? The answer is yes, according to the Bible. But not for long.

Israel will be present toward the end of the Tribulation just before the return of Christ. We know this because there will be a rebuilt temple, according to Daniel the prophet and Jesus the Messiah. The Antichrist will claim to be God in this temple. After this time, Israel will be defeated and scattered throughout the Middle East. This diaspora is seen in many books of the Bible, such as Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Micah, Zechariah, and Joel. I write about this in chapters 10 and 11 of my book, When the Perfect Comes.

Joel mentions Lebanon (Tyre and Sidon) and Gaza (Philistia) in an end-time war, the same areas that we see in Psalm 83: “Now what do you have against me, Tyre and Sidon and all you regions of Philistia? Are you repaying me for something I have done? If you are paying me back, I will swiftly and speedily return on your own heads what you have done” (Joel 3:4).

In a future newsletter, I will discuss why all this is happening. Is God punishing Israel and this world? The answer may shock you.
