Pride – The Beginning and the End

Pride had its beginning with Satan.

Satan’s said in his heart at the beginning of creation, “I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the Most High.”

Interestingly, one of Satan’s desires was to “sit on the mount of the congregation.” He wants to control the church in his pride.

In my twenty-plus years of research on the end-time, I discovered that pride was the number one sin that arouses God’s anger at the end of time. The proud and the arrogant will be destroyed at Christ’s return.

“In that day you will feel no shame because of all your deeds by which you have rebelled against Me; For then I will remove from your midst your proud, exulting ones, and you will never again be haughty on My holy mountain.” (Zephaniah 3:11)

I will punish the world for its evil, the wicked, for their sins. I will put an end to the arrogance of the haughty and will humble the pride of the ruthless (Isaiah 13:11).

“The eyes of the arrogant will be humbled, and human pride brought low; the Lord alone will be exalted in that day” (Isaiah 2:11).

Unfortunately, pride is a trait that infiltrates many of us. Apostle Paul struggled with this and was given a “thorn in the flesh” to overcome it. Most of us have to suffer to expel pride and arrogance from our lives. My book has a chapter on the “Day of the Lord,” which describes what happens the day that Christ returns to earth. If we have pride, we need to ask the Holy Spirit to root that out of us.

Let’s humble ourselves and be ready for the return of Jesus. “Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.” (Revelation 19:7)
